Role Description:
Cystic Fibrosis WA is a not for profit Association incorporated in Western Australia (WA) that funds critical research and provides essential support services to improve the lives of people affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) in WA. We have built strong partnerships and continue to collaborate with a range of state and national organisations and contribute extensively to CF research. The Association is growing, with a strategic intent to be a recognised provider of community services to people with bronchiectasis and other chronic respiratory conditions.
CFWA has emerged from 2020 in a strong financial position, and with a high degree of member support and engagement. We have embarked on a new strategic plan, delivery of which will require a strong board to guide the organisation.
The Board of CFWA is therefore currently looking to co-opt new directors to its Board in 2021. Potential candidates will have a keen desire to contribute to the Association by offering strategic insight, professional expertise and by leveraging professional networks. To compliment the current board skillset, CFWA is particularly interested in candidates with the following experience and background:
• Legal
• Human Resources
• Health services design, delivery or senior management in WA public health system
• Delivery of regional community health services
• Delivery of training/development or community health services to indigenous communities
The Board is keen to receive a wide variety of expressions of interest, therefore the above notwithstanding, all candidates are encouraged to apply (including regional based).
Potential Board members will receive comprehensive training in CF and a Board member orientation pack. Board meetings are held monthly. Some additional meetings and attendance at special events is required throughout the year.
Board members will help shape the future of one of the State’s leading not for profit associations and help achieve our vision of Lives Unaffected by CF. Experienced non-executive Directors are encouraged to apply and will likely appreciate the engagement with philanthropists and leaders in the community. Less experienced Directors will gain invaluable experience at a Board level, whilst contributing and gaining exposure to the diverse range of issues a NFP Board engages in.
